Viva Chefs

Problem

Viva Chefs lets customers discover chefs and book them for one-off or weekly recurring meal-prep sessions — choosing menus, requesting grocery shopping, and setting recurring schedules. Behind that simple booking flow was a hard back-office problem: matching chef availability against customer schedules and requirements, at volume, without it turning into a manual scheduling desk.

Approach

Focused on automating the back-office matching and scheduling work that would otherwise need a growing ops team — chef shift availability, customer booking requirements, and recurring sessions all reconciled automatically, with manual intervention as the exception, not the default.

What I built

• Customer-facing discovery and booking flow for one-off and recurring chef sessions
• Automated matching engine reconciling chef shift availability against customer schedules and requirements
• Menu selection and grocery-shopping requests built into the booking flow
• Node.js services on AWS for background scheduling jobs and notifications

Outcome

Cut back-office operations effort by 50% through automated scheduling and matching. The ops team stepped in only for exceptions instead of running the matching process by hand.
